Rachel teaches flute to all ages and levels online and face to face, drawing on her years of experience of playing professionally.

Rachel is passionate about inspiring others and developing their skills. She enjoys teaching all levels of students along their musical journey through to music college or university entrance and beyond into the music profession.

Since becoming a pupil of Rachel Smith, my playing improved to a higher standard but I have become a better musician overall. She finds new methods to practice technical work, such as scales making them less monotonous and enjoyable.Issy

Rachel has taught at Junior Trinity, St Helen’s School Northwood, Brighton College, East Sussex and East Sussex Music Services. She gives private lessons for beginners to postgraduate music college and University level and beyond. She has also coached Brighton Youth Orchestra Wind section, participated in workshops with The Philharmonia Orchestra’s Education programme and given master classes across the UK and abroad, including Japan.

Rachel offers teaching online or face to face. She is based in the Richmond area of West London and home visits can be made by arrangement.
